Chesney Murphy

Chesney has been dancing since the age of three. She began with park district classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Tumbling until moving to Crystal Lake where she began training in classical Ballet, character, and pointe at the Judith Svalander School of Ballet. Chesney began studying in a teacher training program at the studio in 1999, and has been working with children ever since.
Chesney went on to study dance at Columbia College in Chicago. She had the opportunity to work with some of the countries most well known modern choreographers and dance companies including The Joe Goode Performance Group, the Bebe Miller Company, and members of the Merce Cunningham Dance Company. Chesney graduated with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Dance Performance and Choreography. After college, she became an Apprentice Company member of the Zephyr Dance Company where she was able to dance and rehearse with the company and teach for their Arts Integration workshops in the Chicago Public Schools. Chesney currently teaches dance and fitness classes to over 200 adults and children throughout the Chicagoland Area. Her choreography has been featured in many full length musicals including Hello, Dolly, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Crazy For You, A Chorus Line, Hairspray, and Anything Goes. She is also a licensed Zumba and Zumbatomic Instructor.
